Fin dalla sua nascita, il Jiu-Jitsu ha subito una serie di evoluzioni, ma come più volte ha detto John Danaher non c'è stata evoluzione nelle metodologie di insegnamento.
Qualcosa sta cambiando! Sto parlando dell'approccio ecologico, un'idea tanto innovativa quanto rivoluzionaria, introdotta nel mondo del jiu jitsu da Greg Souders head coach del team Standard Jiu Jitsu *.
Era il 31 gennaio di quest'anno quando pubblicai un video su Istagram dove mostravo un tipico esempio di allenamento usando un approccio ecologico e chiedevo se qualcuno avesse sentito parlare di questa metodologie di insegnamento.
Fin da subito ho intuito che l'approccio ecologico avrebbe potuto rivoluzionare l'intero panorama dell'addestramento nel Jiu-Jitsu. Questo nuovo approccio ha cambiato il mio modo di pensare e di vedere l'insegnamento del Jiu-Jitsu. Ormai sono sette mesi che insegno seguendo questo approccio: niente drills, niente tecniche spiegate step by step. Col metodo ecologico si insegna ad acquisire abilità di lotta.
Ho condiviso questa scoperta con Manuel Sances, una mente altrettanto aperta alle novità, che mi ha chiesto di presentarlo ai corsisti durante il corso di specializzazione giovanile di BJJ ITALIA da lui presieduto. Questa è stata un importante occasione per presentare per la prima volta in Italia questo approccio.
Questo approccio non si limita a essere una novità passeggera, ma trasformerà profondamente la pratica dell'insegnamento e l'approccio al jiu jitsu.
Osservando l'interesse crescente delle accademie negli Stati Uniti e in Europa per questo approccio, non posso fare a meno di sentire che chi si sta orientando verso l'approccio ecologico sta partecipando a un cambiamento epocale.
La conferma più gratificante è arrivata quando ho visto figure di spicco come Priit Mihkelson abbracciare l'approccio ecologico. Questo mi ha rafforzato nella mia convinzione che la strada che ho scelto di percorrere e far percorrere ai miei allievi è quella giusta. Abbandonando il vecchio modo di insegnamento lineare basato sulle tecniche, ho gettato le fondamenta per un nuovo modo di apprendere e insegnare il Jiu-Jitsu. Sono fiducioso che il futuro del Jiu-Jitsu sarà definito dall'approccio ecologico.

Something is changing! I'm talking about the ecological approach, an idea as innovative as it is revolutionary, introduced to the world of Jiu-Jitsu by Greg Souders, head coach of the Standard Jiu Jitsu team.
It was January 31st of this year when I posted a video on Instagram demonstrating a typical training example using an ecological approach and asked if anyone had heard of this teaching methodology.
From the start, I sensed that the ecological approach could revolutionize the entire landscape of Jiu-Jitsu training. This new approach has changed my way of thinking and viewing Jiu-Jitsu instruction. I have been teaching using this approach for seven months now, and I must say I wouldn't go back to the old method for anything in the world. No drills, no techniques explained step by step. The ecological method teaches acquiring fighting skills.
I shared this discovery with Manuel Sances, an equally open mind to innovation, who asked me to present it to the participants during the BJJ ITALIA youth specialization course he presided over. This was an important opportunity to introduce this approach to Italy for the first time.
This approach is not limited to being a passing novelty, but will profoundly transform the practice of teaching and the approach to Jiu-Jitsu.
Seeing the growing interest of academies in the United States and Europe in this approach, I can't help but feel that those embracing the ecological approach are participating in an epochal change.
The most gratifying confirmation came when I saw prominent figures like Priit Mihkelson embracing the ecological approach. This strengthened my belief that the path I have chosen to follow and guide my students through is the right one. By abandoning the old linear teaching method based on techniques, I have laid the foundation for a new way of learning and teaching Jiu-Jitsu. I am confident that the future of Jiu-Jitsu will be defined by the ecological approach.
