Il conteggio delle medaglie è il peggior modo di misurare le prestazioni di un'accademia - A medal count is about the worst way to measure a teams performance.

"Un accademia può realizzare molte cose se ignora questi stupidi ranking. Le uniche persone a cui possono importare sono i proprietari delle palestra ... che (penso?) sanno bene come noi che un conteggio delle medaglie è il peggior modo di misurare le prestazioni di un'accademia. 

Capisco perché i tornei li fanno, perché incentiva le squadre a portare il maggior numero di concorrenti (e $) al torneo. Anche non appartenendo a un'affiliazione, se ci si limita a pompare un torneo specifico per l'intera squadra, è possibile ottenere un 3° posto in modo da ottenere un trofeo di squadra. #OURTEAMSNUMBER1

 
La cosa più controversa che abbia mai fatto è misurare tutte le squadre principali in base alla media percentuale delle vittorie...e questo fa arrabbiare un sacco di persone. IMO, questo getta una luce su cosa sta succedendo.

Sto usando la classifiche a squadra della JJWLS nella foto, ma questo non è davvero diretto a loro ... o al  Dream ... o alla IBJJF ... o ad altre. Ci sono così tante opportunità che puoi produrre per far dimenticare ai tuoi affiliati la questione della mia squadra contro la tua squadra. Le persone che seguono lo sport sapranno dove si allenano i migliori, anche se rappresentano un'altra squadra. (Unity nessuno?).

Credimi, le mamme che portano i loro figli al calcio e che entrano nella vostra accademia  non sono interessate se la vostra accademia è rappresentata dalle migliori cinture viola. Vogliono sapere la differenza tra il Jiu-Jitsu e il TKD e quanto costa un gi."  Dan Lukehart

"So much can be accomplished as a gym if you just ignore these silly team rankings.The only people they matter to are the gym/affiliation owner....and (I think?) they know darn well like the rest of us that a medal count is about the worst way to measure a teams performance. 

I get why tournaments do it, because it incentivizes teams bringing the most competitors (and $) to the tournament. Even not belonging to an affiliation, If you just pump a specific tournament to your whole team you can just default 3rd your way to a team trophy. #OURTEAMSNUMBER1

The most controversial thing I have ever done is measure all the major teams win rate percentages...and BOY did that upset a lot of people. IMO, it really shed some light on whats going on. 

I'm using JJWLs team rankings in the photo, but this isn't really directed at them...or Dream...or IBJJF...or whatever. There are so many opportunities you generate for your members by forgetting the whole my team vs your team thing. People that follow the sport will know where the top guys are training, even if they represent another team. (Unity anybody?).

Believe me, soccer moms that come through the door don't care if whatever top purple belt represents your team. They want to know the difference between Jiu-Jitsu and TKD and how much a gi costs."  Dan Lukehart
